A ruger mini 30 mag and release intergrated into trigger group/mag
well and sear.
you can put mag in with out having to angle, it falls out
when released it's solid and reliable. Also removed front sight and
altered, cut barrel, re tapered, re crowned and re threaded for vortex
flash suppressor.
Also did bolt mod, trigger job, added Chinese spike
bayo for shorter barrel, recoil buffer, gas piston, mojo rear sight,
williams front sight, murrys gas valve/firing pin and a couple other
things. stock is in the mail still needs alot of finishing
sanding/spraying etc.
The ruger mag is narrower than an ak, and he didn't need to remove any material from mag well. He also stated that in hind sight, the ak mag is Alot cheaper and easier to come buy. The ruger
mag is actually very rugged and the build didn't cost that much.
The two flash suppressors that actually work are the vortex and the aac
blackout the pretty much work the same, you can watch a comparison on YouTube. He went with the vortex because it was slightly cheaper and the thread
sizes were closer to whats on a Yugo, He bought it from brownells, it's
petty much the same price everywhere.
If you go with one of these
suppresors you might have to re thread the barrel, he didn't know what
size thread is on a Yugo, he re-threaded his to 9/16x24 Lh.
As for the bolt hold open it just clears the top of the Ruger mag
release, He did have to file down the front of the latch for the mag to
clear, along with some other things... It doesn't do anything right now, he
needs to join it with the magazine follower somehow. The Ruger follower
holds the bolt open on the last round, but that wouldn't hold up for long.
