Not my bolt, and I don't know who butchered it, but I thought the photos of the PPSH41 SA Bolt Conversion shows how NOT to do it!
By far the worst metal work possible...

It's pretty loose, but if you notice the front of the bolt where the primer would rest.. it's pushed in so much that when you shoot it all the primers pop out of the cases, causing all kinds of problems.
Basically it works as a bolt action, primer extractor

I think it was a 4 inch angle grinder.

That looks like a BUTCHERED Allied Armament bolt! Looks like someone was trying to make it fit an odd shaped upper rear receiver!

it would seem TNW had a kit you could purchase to convert the PPSH41.
This person bought it, but didn't have the right tools to convert his PPSH41 bolt, and didn't bother taking it to a shop that had a mill.
so he used a grinder to destroy his bolt instead of doing it the right way.
I should not that I have seen the striker fired setup by Allied (no longer made) as well as the early striker fired setup by WLA (originally designed by the same guy) and the hammer fired unit made by TNW.
I like how simple the striker fired setup is, and how easy it is to convert (even the original FCG).
I really like the TNW hammer fired setup... very well designed, and with a proper bolt (or original TNW bolt) I think it would work everytime.
The Allied striker?? I would make a couple simple mods to it to reduce friction before installing it, and I would like to convert to an AR firing pin.
The TNW version I looked at has the WORST trigger pull at around 18 lb pull.
Now keep in mind the guy who did the bolt also did the trigger group install, so it's likely not aligned right, so it will need a little work to correct. a little stoning etc.. and I'm sure it will be a nice trigger pull.
Given the choice I would buy the TNW unit over the WLA unit any day of the week. and I would also buy a Allied kit if found at a good price. the shroud was well made, and the setup looks good.
I still like hammer over striker..

I had that same feeling at first, then i remembered, some sorry sod had to learn sometime how to go about modifying, and how not too!!! Most likely, with the amount of grinding, the welds were trial and error as well!

Actually, it could be a large chunk of 1'' rebar, not a bolt!
