The instructions that came with the 80% receiver say to use a 5/8"x18 die
to "chase the threads" on the rate reducer.
Not being a machinist I presume this means using the die to "adjust" the
pitch of the external threads on the rate reducer to match those
machined into the hole in the rear part of the receiver.
Is this correct? I don't want to mess up the rate reducer's external
threads by misinterpreting the instructions.
As an aside, should a 5/8"x18 tap screw right into the above-mentioned
hole in the rear part of the receiver?
Newbie questions, I know, but hey, we've gotta learn somewhere. [smile]

I used the 5/8"x18 die to "chase the threads" on the rate reducer, and the rate reducer screwed right into the receiver.

Thanks, using the die per the instructions (and as I suspected the terms
meant) worked like a charm, just as you say. Learn something new every
day. Sometimes it's almost like learning a foreign language. [smile]

I've got a CZ Skorpion instuction book in PDF format I'll send to anyone who is interested . It has an excellant exploded drawingand a parts list etc etc.
Its also bi-lingual .
I have 2 Cobray 11/9 parts kits with one "flat" for trade for a Skorpion parts kit . Or I'll buy your extra kit ?
