Hi All
Here is a small quick fixer upper I did on my Suomi. I ordered all the parts from centerfire . I went a head and ordered a slide mount for an AK-47 (#AK-PSRB-2) goes on the side of the weapon, I also ordered the slide onquick mount (#MNTAKA14) that goes onto the slide that you mount on the weapon. Then I got a handle (#MNT-HDL) that mounts on a Picatinny system and a red dot sight that does the same. All you do it set the weapon on its side level everything out, I used wood screws, I then screwed the AK scope mount to the weapon. Then you just slide on the handle and sight and there you go you can add a scope or any other Picatinny style items on the weapon.
The handle makes much easier to carry and I do like the red dot
Now all I have to do is test it out I just the weapon back from getting repaired. It takes no time at all and it gives a lot of options as far as sight and other accessory's. And it does not cost a lot for everything.

Oh and as far as the scope I'm not sure what happened I shot about 6 or 7 rounds and I was trying to zero it in and it just gave up the ghost. I tried everything but it would not come back on. I called the place I bought it from they said send it back so I did I'm just going to get a refund and try something different I just do not have good luck with electronic scope and sights

There is definitely problems with early Soumi's made by that Oregon company. The first 500 were losers, I hope It's just a bad mag. & it's a easy fix.

That's a very clever idea to add a modern practical tac-pac to a very robust old weapon. I applaud your insight.
How is the stability of your improved platform? I notice on mine (also a centerfire kit) that the forearm area where you mounted has an ever so slight give if I grip it tightly that would change POI a moa or two. Have you used any glass bedding or such to improve rigidity? Or is it even necessary? Again great idea that with your permission I may attempt.
