Is it viable to do this with just a mapp torch? I've got access to oxy/acetylene or I could take it to a friend who could do something else.

Rather then like some of the guys here, making whole new barrels to fit their leinad pistols, I've made an adapter. So far I've made a .22 one and a .32acp one. I'm working on 9mm, 380, 25acp and 380. They're unrifled as I don't have many tools. But in my opinion they look good. I've sanded them with some very fine grit paper after working them on my grinder and they look great. Yet to test the 32 one. The .22 works great.

xLuty, FYI, unrifled firearms in the US must be @ least 26" long w/o a tax stamp. If you're not in the US, no worries.

I believe its 18" on the Barrel, and if it has a butt stock then 26"overall is the minimum. Looks like he is building a pistol..

Shotguns have a buttstock, must be @ least 26" OAL, & have a bbl of 18". Since he's building a gun from scratch, if he doesn't have a buttstock, it's an "Other firearm" and only has to be 26" OAL if he has a smooth bore - no minimum bbl length requirement.

Having an issue with my kit built model D - The hammer slips forward. It appears to be a problem with the trigger spring. The two legged one. If I compress the spring by pushing on the legs that hold the break barrel closed, it stays cocked. But often one of the legs of the two will slip past the rod that holds the barrel closed.

Don't really know how to remedy this. It's not a sear issue either. I considered making a thicker bar or something.
I tried to circle the areas but it's bloody choppy and it's a tough area to get in and photograph but I'll do that tomorrow. It's a real pain. Considered making another spring but that seems impossible.

Can you add a bend to the end of the spring to help keep it seated?
