You can see the video here  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMDZQjNVc24

everyone is welcome..

Camping starts Friday night in Wonewoc WI 53968 ($5 per night)

Camping is $25 per year at the local gun club, with a 200 yard range.

shooting will be all day SAT. and generally a fun shoot, and if new shooters are attending they can get personal instruction.

I'm also bringing my rifle crowning tools to do target crowns right at the range.

Any question, just send an email.

The next set of slow motion videos will be from a range day, next sat.

We will be testing a Saiga 12 with an all new S-12 magazine chest rig, which is great.

This sounds like a Tom must do. This year is not possible but 2012 looks good. I could bring many shards of flint, I have tons of the stuff, and a few files as strikers. Old files are through hardened. The Chinese junk is just surface hardened. For tinder, put some cotton clothe in a mostly enclosed tin can and heat it over a fire. What results is clothe which is easily ignited by a spark. The trick is to slightly char the cloth. After that, a spark does the trick.

All the Best

Tom, the paleolithic man

Oh yes, I will bring an atlatl and darts. There is no sense to using firearms when a 20,000 year old weapon will do!

Flint and steel. Hard flint strikes the hardened steel and it shaves off a tiny bit of metal. The tiny bits are so hot that they burn. I mean way over 2000F. Files are very high carbon steel. Steel; no carbon equals no hardness and no sparks. I have seen thousands of old files at flee markets for little or nothing. They may be dull as files but as strikers they have no equal. Files tend to have around 1.4% carbon. As steel goes, this percent of carbon is very, very high. They will beak in a heart beat but oh my are they hard. I will prepare for next years camps. I will bring flint. Much of this flint I got from a fort in Kileen Texas. It's name escapes me at the moment. It was an annual flint knapping event. After 9-11, that ended. To meet with friends is a good thing. As to the atlatl, I am willing to give anyone a three second run to escape a dart. Are you willing? Remember now, you are a modern man running. The weapon system is the very first weapon incorporating more than one part.
