The first three pieces of the reciever are taked together the forth piece has to be fit to the barell to get the right distence for the locking cam to engage the barell so i will do that next i have pics but cant get them on here see ya

Black Beard,
PM me with your email address... You can send me the images (1 at a time if need be) and I will shrink and post.
Or PM me or a Moderator, and we can walk you through... once you do it once.... it is easy...
Do you have Microsoft Picture Manager? Open your picture in it.... and then resize. Go to Picture.... then Compress Pictures (web pages). .... then save to your location..... Open Weaponeer and go to Upload photos....

Blackbeard,
Please clarify what each pic means.... I will label them 1,2,3.... etc.
Picture 1. This looks like a sweet mill setup!
Picture 2. This appears to be a setup to true the receiver.
Picture 3. Appears to be another setup to insure the receiver is true.
Picture 4. This looks great! Here the cuts have been filled in/ welded.
Picture 5. This is of a shell in the chamber. Notice the welds to either side.
As mentioned, I can edit the post to correct or clarify what each picture means!

Thanks for posting those the first pic is my lathe with the reciever on it the second is the level and a piece of steel clamped to keep the reciever straight next shows the copper bar i machined to go in the cocking handle slot and the bar on top of it bolted to the piece of chanell. Then im looking at the front piece i have the barell locked in the reciever with the front piece slid on the copper rail now im looking for a piece of pipe i can slide over the barell to take up for the torch cut gap. With the reciever bolted to the chanell i can work on it and move it without it moving out of line from the welding table to the mill to my office

Black Beard,
Let me know if you have any other photos to post.... I did have some Weaponeer error.... so I put you through PhotoBucket instead of direct embed. Easy Peezy!
As for your barrel, don't know what to say about welding it. I would probably opt of the pipe, and try some 4140 chromoly tubing from Speedy Metals.... Pipe generally has an internal seem, that wouldn't be so good for stress!
Looking good so far! I like!!!

When i did my bren, it was cut through the barrel socket. Looks like that is also. I used a piece of copper bar and shaped it to the same diameter and length as the barrel that goes into the socket so that i could weld with maximum penetration. I set the gap a few thousandths larger then the final setting to compensate for shrinkage. It worked well. I have a pic if you want to see it.

Guys,
Here are some outstanding photos from our friend here.
Next up is the receiver with blocks installed. As mentioned before, filler blocks are needed to prevent shrinkage.
Here is a machined photo of the critter, after welding....
Here is an alternate view of the welded receiver.
Good photo detail some dove tail cutting!
Here is an outstanding photo of the top cover on the receiver.

She is a cutie! I like the way you tacked the rear piece to your jig to prevent it from moving while you welded.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.......it is. Thanks!
