The Winchester Canyon Gun Club operates a public shooting range in the Los Padres National Forest. The Clubs original permit was issued in the 1960s. It expired in 1995 and has been authorized on an annual basis ever since. The U.S. Forest Service must prepare an environmental impact analysis on the proposed action to renew the Clubs permit for twenty years. Announcement of this process was posted in the April 27th Federal Register.
