for the last year I have not been able to update any software, and several months ago my antivirus software expired, and I had no money to renew.

Two days ago I found freeware
antivirus software, that's as good or better than any of the software I have used or even recommended as a PC system administrator in the past, and yes it's free and works great.

If you are running Norton, delete it (it's crap anyway), and install this software, which is much better. if you want the internet protection, you can buy that for an extra $20.00.

You can download the software here:
www.avast.com/

I don't normally point out software (especially non-gun related) unless I'm personally using it, and actually like it, and right now I highly recommend it.

If you don't have updated Antivirus software on your computer, download and install this software.  otherwise your computer could start sending out spam without you knowing it (I see it all the time).

Download it...  you are not out anything for trying or using (this is not trial software)

Best Regards,

The Boss

I'll second that - I've used Avast for several years with no problems.

In the rare event you have compatibility issues with it - another good option is AVG - also totally free.

...and should you still get a virus - a good free program to get rid of it is Malwarebytes anti malware software
