Just got my Mk III kit for rebuild. I notice when the dust cover is on the holes don't align. Its the pin type dust cover and the dust cover holes are about 1/8 lower then the trigger housing holes. Thoughts. Thanks

Maybe the parts kit is mixed from different guns. I am certain there was a good bit of variability from shop to shop on these.

Are you talking about the snap on cover that goes on the bottom of the trigger housing???? If so i just picked up a lower section. If we can get a measurement i will check mine to see if it would fit better. We could swap as i don't have a full kit just odd parts. I bought the whole lower for $5 at a show. Its complete with the cover and all internal parts. HEHEHE Anyway let me know Ryche

Doing a little reading while the PC was running.
Variation STEN MK II, MK III. No 2 below explains why the holes are in the wrong place. MK III never used the holes for a pin.
Differences are: MK III
1) The Stud on the but passes through a recess in the trigger guard.
2) The trigger mechanism cover is pushed on & springs into position. There are two depressions engaging in the holes originally put there for the screws
3) The body casing is continued to within an inch of the end of the barrel. This cuts out the barrel nut, the plunger, spring barrel nut catch & split pin.
4) The magazine housing is rigid. Being welded to the receiver.
5) The ejector is part of the magazine retaining catch plate, which is shaped to form one.
6) The rear head casing is a press tool job & consists of rear head casing with side plates all in one.
7) The hand stop is riveted on to the casing immediately in front of the ejection opening.
8] The front sight consists of raised portion of the rib running the whole length of the casing.
