How are you going to lock the breech?
I don't know if its the angle on the pics, but the cutout doesn't look like it will lock the breech well enough.
Though it may be the way I'm looking at the pics.

Looking good, are you basing it off any specific designs? I thought about trying to clone parts of my collection to get started in the hobby.

getting close to being done. The fire control group it just a mock-up out of aluminum. I still need to cut and bend the housing for the trigger, etc... I am hoping that I will finish the bolt today after school. But I need an idea for an extractor? I am using a rugger 10/22 barrel. But all in all I think it is getting there.
Tell me what you guys think.

Looks good! I have a Mossberg model B that I want to copy. It has an almost 2' barrel. Quite accurate. I got a squirrel from 75yds with open sights with it. It is one of my favorite guns.

Anyone that builds their own rifle/pistol has my respect. It is truly a learning experience and the knowledge gained applied in more and more complex projects. I started out by building muzzleloading pistols and then onto to rifles. I have built 03's with salvaged receivers and have had a couple of surplus Springfield barrels that were short chambered and put them altogether, finished reamed to headspace and installed semi inletted cant stocks. Turned out very well and presented them to my two sons. They shoot well and are accurate. I have quite a few Mauser receivers that I have projects already lined up to complete. What better way to spend retirement and pass on a legacy to the grandsons and grandaughters.
