That's looking rather nice that is, I do like the woodwork, you've done a lovely job, what finish are you doing the metalwork?

Probably just blackspraypaint and clearcoat on the frame, and whatever you call heating the small parts up and dipping them in motoroil until they turn black.. nothing fancy but seems to be working for me, far as abrasion resistance and uniform color, doesn't mess with tolerances too much

also took a break to make a baby crossbow from a broken bandsawblade and some kevlar

oh and these are the last of my bullets from before the whole 22lr becoming rare thing, when it was $18 for 550 of the ones that never ever jam. unlike these that always do >_>. I'm scared of opening the pack because I'll lose them forever if i test fire this and its matching rifle

I'm not going to do it to these. but I crazy want to put lightening cuts with a ball mill in the side of the reciever to add detail. like the side of a mauser c96/fal. the flatness is bothering me .. its one of those things where it works in my imagination. but everytime i pencil it on. no combination of shapes fits. without going outside of shapes I am skilled enough to mill by hand (and repeat on the opposite side)

could setup the 4th axis and engrave an outline to match the access panel on the opposite side, then I would be happy. but not sure it is hours of work, happy.

Beautiful work yabacon. Are you selling any flats? I just got my first mill and need some projects and a nice little 22 target pistol in single shot fits the bill. Keep it up!!!

There wasn't really enough demand to order a large enough amount of the flats to pay the laser company to make them, only 2 or 3 people expressed interest.  Plus, I was worried in order to make it so the customer didn't require a mill, I would have to find a machine shop to produce the barrel section already complete.  So in short I became lazy, and noone payed me enough to change .. don't forget to post pictures on weaponeer when you start yours ^_^

Honestly you can make the receiver in about a day without flats with nothing but a bandsaw and a hand drill.  None of the measurements actually matter, since you are also building every mating piece.
