Wanting to build a Johnson LMG in semi auto but can't find any drawings at all.
Wondering if anyone has something. Even 3d models would help.
Maybe somebody can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

The orig. plans for the Johnson rifle as well as the Johnson machine gun went missing many many years ago.  There have been quite a few people looking for any plans without much luck.
You can check both the Johnson and DROR threads on this site for some info.
I have a working DROR and am still working on a JLMG so i could provide some pics if needed.
The 1st couple of things needed will be a JLMG lower (one of the semi models is best but really hard to find) with the FA parts removed.
A Johnson rifle receiver that will be modified to fit the lower.

A Johnson LMG mag housing (expect to pay as much as $2000 for this part alone unless you get lucky)  if you find more than one please let me know.

a Johnson barrel,,, A rifle barrel can be used but the sights will be changed to the sharkfin style (i might have an xtra one of these)
Once you have all of this then we can get started.
A beater Johnson rifle is a good place to start as you can strip it to the rec. and barrel. Then sell all the other parts to finance what else
your gonna need.
You might want to consider a replica of the prototype Para-carbine to start as it can modded into a JLMG after you find the mag housing.

Thank you for the information! that helps.
I might have to design something based on the design.
I like the simplicity of the short recoil system. And I want to build something with a side feed. I don't have a good reason other than I want a side feed. lol.

Artorius, what about a .308" side feed that sits on top of an AR-15 lower?

Artorius:I understand about the side feed thing, i too am a fan.
If you want to roll on the JLMG let me know, i'm willing to help where i can.

Back:  Interesting idea buddy, i know there has been guys who converted to .308 on the Johnson but a side feed on an AR15 might actually make it cool

A Sten would be cheaper.
