Why not weld an extension on to the follower so only 10 rounds will fit and you don't need to mess with the spring?

That was my original idea, but since I'm in CT getting the mags in the first place is the problem. Finding someone who feels safe modding them and shipping them to a ban state is hard. Nobody makes a 10rd sten mag. When designing one you need to be sure that nobody could possible fit a 11th rd in there or you risk the government making you disappear like Jimmy Hoffa.

Our founding fathers wanted everyone to be armed equally to the army in case the government went power mad like England did. George Washington said that if a law limits your constitutional rights at all you have a patriotic obligation to disobey that law. But sadly our founding father's America doesn't exist anymore and hasn't for a long time. Sadly A lot of folks today either don't realize how important their rights really are or they feel too defeated to be able to do anything about them. It's not their fault, The schools don't teach anymore what happens when a people are disarmed, defenseless, and dependent on the government.

Maybe by designing a 10rd mag that can be shipped to these ban states, A little bit of our founding father's America can be preserved along with a little independence in these days of fear and uncertainty.

I apologize for my going off topic but I'm deeply moved and wanted to thank you guys for the assistance you've offered me so far when so many others wouldn't even try. With all the talk of outlawing "firearm discussion" on the internet I wanted to say my peace while I still have the freedom of speech left.

Living in a ban state like CT really makes you appreciate your rights more than you can imagine. My dad served in Vietnam and could recite the Declaration Of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill Of Rights from memory. I can't imagine the pain it would cause him if he was here today to see what's happening to this state and this country.

Kamil, since you can weld, then this becomes pretty simple.

I - or any other volunteer you choose to ship mags to - cuts each mag body w/ a Dremel, torch, hacksaw - 10 rounds below the feed lips, then sends you both pieces, the spring, follower, & baseplate.

Then you can weld on your extension to the follower, and size the bottom of the mag to weld onto the top any length you choose. You won't even need to fold the lips for the baseplate.

That won't work as you can always change out the follower. The mag has to be permanently changed, a welded block or restriction that cannot be removed without destroying the mag..

I'm confused. I don't have any mags. I'm looking to buy them either already modified for 10rds or with the bodies cut as you say so I can finish the mod myself.

Kamil,

Right. Pick one of us who are volunteering to chop the mags.

Ship 1, 5, or 20+ mags to us from an online STEN mag dealer.

We'll strip 'em, chop the top to no longer than 10 rounds, and ship the bits to you. You can chop the bottom to whatever spring length works for you, and weld the bits together.

So Trickyrick & I are willing to chop mags; pick one of us, ship one or more mags to us, and we'll get cutting.

ryche, since Kamil can weld, looks like I don't need the experimental mag body. Send it if you like, I can practice cuts on it.
