I recently finished a CETME-L build using a flat/jig/barrel/weldments from Hill & Mac Gunworks, and put together an 11-part video walkthough of the whole process. Hopefully it will be interesting and useful to some folks!

Neat. I'll have to check that out later. I want to do a CETME some day.

Thanks for putting those videos together Ian. Very well done.

Unfortunately those HMG flats are too expensive compared to the Prexis flats.

Yeah, they are a bit pricey. My thought, though, is that is I add the value of my own time and the amount of additional work required to make a Prexis flat actually function, the HMG flat becomes the significantly cheaper option.

https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/Receiver-Flat-HK-91-G3-PTR-C ETME-234p2320.htm

How are those flats 250 dollars and the HK licensed PTR flats are only 70?

https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/Flat-With-Weldment-Set-HK-91 -G3-PTR-CETME-126p2086.htm

Even with the semi auto weldment bits it's only 130?

Volume, I expect. PTR makes lots of HK flats.

Ian, hadn't looked @ the videos yet, but your name rang a bell, and I thought,"I wonder?"  We're very flattered you're here.  Welcome.

After watching Ian's videos, I called Apex and ordered their twofer special + barrels. Next, long call with many questions to Jason at HMgunworks for two flats and weldments with jig. This build should be fairly easy. Did two HK91's already. Grandkid need's Christmas present. Lucky he and his Dad are shooters. After much research, HMG flats look like the best to build with.

Ah. Didn't know Apex had restocked barrels. Thanks for the tip! Was looking at those CA24 kits. They're marked down and that's one on the to-do list once I move.

Boo.
Apex restocked their 5.56 Cetme barrels, not the 7.62x51 barrels.

Got my kits and barrels yesterday. One good+ condition, other very, very good. Barrels are super nice. This morning I peeled receiver off trunion and it went fast. Be aware that there are 7 very large spot welds hiding there. The trunion was fairly soft steel, not the heat treated unobtainium used by H&K. So far so good.
