Im about to do a muzzleloaded caliber .22 revolver propelled by black powder (5 grains, classic .22 long).

Would the prehard tool steel toolox 33 work in this application?

The thickness will be around 6mm between the barrels.

For this app, you ought to be able to get by with anything that's stronger than brass...  given how heavy you're maing the cylinder, that's even more true...

Lindquist data suggests that there are several of their steels that would work.
