If this was done to .380 or even .22LR or Mag this pistol would work without the need for the spring spring on the side. Also if someone ever reproduced this pistol it would not be hard to incorporate a locking system to account for hotter rounds. Since the bolt is hollow making it have a rotating bolt head would not be difficult at all.
I considered making this pistol over the Ruger Standard because this design exceeds the Ruger Standard and looks similar to it. The FCG is so simple but works correctly that it is just a better solution for this type of pistol. The bolt design and system is simple as well. The grip allows the shooter to get a pretty high purchase on the gun thus reducing muzzle flip. It's got an easy take down that should be reason enough to exceed the Ruger Standard.
It really is a good very well thought out design that is begging to be reproduced in a smaller caliber. I could easily see this pistol getting legs in a civilian market if chamber in .380. Also the solution for firing a 7.63mm is good enough to serve for other larger calibers as well. Thats what is great about this pistol. They figured out how to make the design work in large calibers proving it could work for anything under the 7.63mm and possibly higher.
Truly one of the best pistol designs lost to time. Right next to the one Ian did of the Schwarzlose 1898 pistol which did have a rotating bolt and possibly the best designed pistol ever made.

Ian and his videos are always an inspiration to homebrewed designs. I cant tell you how many videos ive seen and thought that could work. As for this I agree that a modern report would be beautiful
