Just wondering if the work to cut out the holes in the barrel jacket is worth the time.

I have started one and wish I had not. Its the wrong thickness and the 80% that is done is amateurish. Save the cash and buy one complete from Wise Lite Arms. The best money you can spend.

ok 2 things here...
cold steel has its ups and downs.... his trunnions and so on for the ppsh are great.
his ppsh 80%: i agree it just doesnt compare with the repair sections that you can get from jestism or WLA.
his ak stuff is pretty good. and he always sends you a good print to work off of.
remember if you use his extra thick ak set up to add/subtract that extra thickness!!

WLA makes an incredible 100%, semi PPSH receiver.
I am very glad I got one of these which wound up a well working and I think rare collector's piece.

Thanks for the compliments on our PPSh-41 receiver!
A lot of effort/money went into developing that stamping to match the originals for shape/contour. Before anyone asks, there is no way for us to produce these as anything but an FFL item. BATFE Tech Branch was also very clear with providing WLA guidance concerning the PPSh-41 trunnion. WEAPONEER posted that letter!
Thanks for all the support!

In the last few weeks we have been adding content to the Wise Lite Arms web site. In future we will probably expand the content behind the "product" images. I hope you are not expecting too see a whole lot on our site!

Well, I'm not looking for beefcake pics if that's what you mean but I would like to see some list of the products you offer (along with pics of the actual items not just the finished firearm) maybe msrp, but definitely where they can be purchased. I realize selling them yourselves is a pita so I'd be thrilled to see a little WLA section here. I thought the barrel bearings you guys made for the MG42's were awesome but I'd never heard of you before. If you're making stuff of the same quality for other firearms (parts or whole receivers) I'd be very interested. So would everyone else I'll bet.

I'm definitaly interested in PPSh41 parts as well as MG42 parts. I've gotten my PPS43 parts from the WLA group buys and would buy more for the other projects.

How's the builds on these? Does anyone have any pictures or information that can prove useful for building off these? I ordered a receiver from Cold Steel last week.

I was staying on topic about the Cold Steel receivers, I am not building off a WLA receiver. I need some general input about them and som info from people who have built off them.

I too would like more information on the Cold Steel receivers, if they are bad then why and what the steps necessary to completion are.

I've received mine and I am about 90% done in finishing it. They are in pretty good 80% receivers, but take a lot of work to get completed. You basically have to cut open all the holes and the bolt slot in order to complete. They are also slightly less thicker than the polish parts kit (but this really has no effect on anything except when you have to weld the muzzle cap and barrel support in).
Other than that they are well done in form, and if you like to build receivers from scratch the Cold Steel on is your best bet. I've done almost all the cutting with a dremel tool, so its not impossible if you dont have a mill.
This is where I am at with mine, I still need to install the trunnion and modify IOinc's semi-auto bolt to work in it. But I is pretty much finished as far as machining goes.

They are not bad so long as the Blocking rail and Long barrel trunion
are installed. Otherwise, it is a MACHINE GUN. Plain and simple.
