I finally made the leap last week and bought a parts kit on GunBroker, can't wait for it to arrive!
I was planning to purchase a set on OOWINC that included complete semi machined bolt, lock frame, and barrel extension with an RSP, but they've recently gone out of stock and they can't tell me if they'll be back. Can anybody recommend a similar package?

Looking forward to completing the build! I wish I still had a mill at my disposal to do the machining myself...

Mill work should be easy for any local shop willing to work on gun stuff. You need a special keyway cutter if I remember but no big deal for a shop. Look for a sideplate by itself.

Congrats.
.308 or 30-06?
I'm jelly.

I have a sketch I made of a local's 1919 right hand plate. I'll see if I can't dig it out. I don't remember there being anything special. I thought it was a straight 1/4" slot.

My plate from memory had about .050. Protrusion about an inch and a half tall lengthwise down the middle. Major internal parts had to be slotted for it. The trigger slot had to be cut too.

The kit I got is an Israeli converted 308. Yes, there should be a "denial island" projection on the RSP for a semi build, and the internals will need machining to accommodate a semi trigger and sear along with the semi rsp.
I ended up ordering a KMP semi trigger and sear kit along with a KMP right side plate, hopefully it will all be here this week! Then I just need to find someone local that will let me use their mill (; or I will send it to a friend that has equipment.

I've been fantasizing about this build for some time, and am very excited to get started!

Hope your friend has a manufacturing FFL.

From the pictures, I assumed the RSP from KMP is 100% (also had to ship it to an FFL), though for the price I don't mind finishing it myself if it isn't.
A manufacturing FFL shouldn't be necessary for machining the bolt/lock frame/barrel extension, since they will not be creating a firearm (RSP in this case), correct?

Ah, if it's already a firearm, no issues as long as your buddy doesn't charge you for his work.  Stupid GCA.

The riveting is the 'making' part of the process. The machine work can be farmed out. The list for a gunsmith to need a manufacturing license is asinine but these parts aren't on it.
