Brand new on here, just looking for some input. I have this idea of making a, get ready for this terminology, semi-auto striker fired .22lr "machine" pistol. Basically I want a pistol about the size of a vz61, obviously in USA legal semi automatic. I've been shopping around and found a brand new 3" .22lr barrel for $20 or 5" for $33 both have front blade sight. And I'm thinking ruger 10/22 mags. bolt weight should be about .4#.
I would like to use a dom tube receiver and hold the whole thing together with pins. Looking at semi auto paintball trigger assemblies so I don't have to delve into that with my limited machining capabilities.
Just looking for anyone that may have built something similar, maybe some pointers for me in this design.

One of our members here wanted to build a Charger pistol from scratch, but figured out it was cheaper to use Remington 597 parts rather than Ruger 10/22 ones. So he machined a 597 receiver out of aluminum, threw an AR grip on it, and put in 597 bits for roughly half the price of what 10/22 parts would have run him.
Glock trigger bits are refined and easy to find, many options. Any particular reason for striker fire? Ruger 10/22 or AR triggers just drop in.
