I've converted my mg 42 to 7.62 and having an issue!!! When I pull the trigger the first round chambers and fires. It ejects the spent casing and chambers the second round but does not fire? Primer will show a very faint primer strike. Does it every time. It's driving me crazy!!!!! any suggestions???

Full auto or semi? There is a heavy hammer spring on the market for semi. I'll look it up when I get home.

If it is semiauto and you are using a hammer, it could be the disconnector is not working right. Might be releasing the hammer to follow the bolt forward producing light strikes.

You may need to change your front end booster to the smaller size opening to keep more gas in the system for recoil.
If you used one of the kits for conversion there should have been one in it. If not i think RTG.com may still have them.
When you changed ammo the bullet size changed to a smaller diameter and it sounds like your blowing out to much of your gas needed for positive recoil.
Let us know how it goes.
