After writing to the BATFE about a Lahti L39 that had previously been converted from 20mm to .50 BMG, I received this letter of "approval". The attachment includes a notarized letter to the BATFE for what it is worth. I was as polite as Ward Cleaver, formal, and included plenty of detailed pictures (higher resolution than presented here). Thanks to those who gave good advice about writing the BATFE.

I know - it's a number of years after the original post but - I'd always wondered what happened to that gun.

I believe it's the one Joe, Chris and I modified in the mid 80s - Tulsa OK.

My account apparently expired, was "Opcom". Anyway I still have the modded L39 the letter is about.

I looked up the call and sent an e-mail.
